Logitech M305 Wireless Mouse

I used a PS2 mouse before with my desktop computer and my problem is that its cord often gets tangled with other cables so I decided to buy a wireless mouse to take away the wire and to free up some space on my desk at the same time. I got this wireless mouse from my local tech shop a month ago for a nice price and I was amazed at how convenient it is to use.

My new mouse is the M305 silver wireless mouse from Logitech. It is doing nicely with Windows XP Pro, and I am planning to test it with Windows 7 later. It is a bit smaller than my old mouse which makes it lighter and much easier to move about. I like its stylish design, nice contour, and it feels good to the touch because of the soft rubber grip – an overall superb ergonomics!

Located on its underside is the power switch which can be useful if you will not use the mouse for a long time. Aside from that, it also has a sleep mode feature that automatically turns off when idle for quite a while. I have never turned it off since I got it a month ago. The single “AA” battery that came with it is still going strong; that at least will save me some money on battery replacements. From sleep mode, there is one second delay wake up time but that is just a very minor issue.

I have heard that wireless mice can work even from afar, and just to satisfy my curiosity I tested it from a distance where I can barely read the fine print on my big screen (about 5 meters away) and it worked well! I have not tried it further than that but come to think of it, nobody will use it that far anyway.

The one thing I like the most about this mouse is its nano receiver. The receiver plugs conveniently into one of my computer’s USB port and it is so small you can hardly notice it is there. I think the size of the receiver is an important issue here, especially when used with laptops. Because laptops are moved around most of the time, the devices connected to it such as flash drives and receivers are prone to damage when left attached. In fact, I am planning to buy another one of these for my laptop.

The only thing I did not like about this mouse is its height as it is to some extent tall. I had a bit of difficulty adjusting my hand to it, but this is just a minor setback and this will not stop me from buying another Logitech M305 Wireless Mouse.

I have not tried the M305 with games so I cannot compare it with other gaming mice.

In conclusion, I like this wireless mouse. It is easy to install – no setup is needed, it feels fine, looks good, is competitively priced, and most of all, it performs very well. So for those who are looking for a wireless mouse that can deliver a superb performance, I highly recommend Logitech M305 Wireless Mouse. Get it now and you sure will enjoy using it on your laptop or PC.
