Logitech has come up with yet another programmable gaming mouse – the G500. Its 27 grams of additional weight gives you the clasp that you want to feel in your hand. Other features include an onboard memory, a dual mode scroll wheel and an on-the-fly adjustable DPI. It also boasts of 10 programmable buttons.
The Main Features of Logitech Gaming Mouse G500
Game-changing accuracy. Giving you precision at every hand speed is the gaming-grade laser. It is a good option for FPS and MMORPG gamers.
Onboard memory. With no additional software needed, this feature lets you save and take your settings for your preferred label.
Weight tuning. The 27 grams additional weight extends a more distinctive control and feel. You can have it heavy or light.
Super-quick scrolling with the Dual-mode scroll wheel. Providing you with an accurate click-to-click scrolling is the dual-mode scroll wheel. You can impress your boss by toggling to a less resistance super quick scroll to go through web pages.
An on-the-fly adjustable DPI gives you the exact height of accuracy for any type of games (reaching up to 5700 dpi).
Puts macros in your hand through its programmable buttons. By downloading Logitech SetPoint software, you get macros right into your hand with the 10 programmable buttons.
To my assessment, I consider the Logitech G500 Programmable Gaming Mouse as the best mouse ever. I used to have the G5 and the G9. But it was the G5 that I always use as I do not like the grip of G9.
Between the G500 and the G5, the former has a ridge on its upper-right that gives more comfort when the right mouse button is held by your middle finger. (We normally use the ring finger here.) The G500 offers you a better palm grasp than the G5 as the palm rest is broader and lifted. With the use of the index finger, you can make changes easily because of the sensitivity switches that were located on the upper left side. With the G500, you get to have the mouse wheel toggle, which is a free spin/click, situated on the top instead of underneath the mouse (this is the set up with G9). The thing which I wanted most with G500 is that I can run it in free mode even when browsing and the click mode when gaming.
Technically, the Logitech G500 Programmable Gaming Mouse performs outstandingly than the G5. Allowing more control over the mouse is the Setpoint software which is different from that of G5s.
Medium to small sizes of hands are not a problem as it fits well like when wearing a glove. Making you at ease is the shape and the base-weight. The right and left buttons can be clicked as far back with just a small click-pressure change felt.
The 10 programmable buttons allows you to do click-casting in World of Warcraft game. Perfect is the left and right scroll click which I find easier to use the same as other mice are.
The three buttons on its left side allows you to do scrolling super-fast scrolling which is really excellent.
Any G5 mouse owner will definitely love the Logitech G500 Programmable Gaming Mouse.
If you are looking for a corded mouse, Logitech Corded Mouse M500 will work for you best. If you want to find out why, then I encourage you to read on.
Increasing your efficiency is the Logitech Corded Mouse M500 hyper-fast scrolling. It also consist of laser tracking, a comfortable grasp, backward and forward buttons and plug-and-play installation
The super-quick scrolling feature gives you maximized output. You are in command of the speed. You can take off through long documents or move into the click-to-click mode for slides, photos or lists. You can also go through web pages as quickly as you want. The scroll wheel, which is a feature of Logitech’s more current mice models, allows you do the super-quick scrolling where you can toggle between a regular and super scrolling. The scroll wheel can be pushed to the right or left for horizontal scrolling. You would not want to use your old mouse the moment you try this.
Laser Precision is 1000 dpi. Delivering smooth and accurate tracking is the laser sensor which works nearly on any surface. It does not, however, work on clear glass or mirrors. This feature makes the Logitech Corded Mouse M500 a whole lot better and accurate than the older models of optical mice.
It has a contoured design with soft side grips. Aside from giving you the support, control is at your hands. It does not matter how long you want to work, surf and play, you can do this conveniently. With its ergonomic design, you will not get too much strain compared with the other manufacturer’s mice. M500 sides are of rubber which provides you with a good grasp while made of textured plastic are the left and right buttons.
The forward and back buttons which allows one to easily go through powerpoint slides or websites are situated on its left side. It is just within easy reach of the thumb.
Installation is easy because of the plug-and-play feature. Fresh from the box, just plug in the plug-and-play USB and it is ready to work.
What are the advantages you will get from M500?
* It is more firm than any Logitech mouse such as the MX500, MX700 and the G7
* The curvier design is more friendly and ergonomic as it lessens discomfort and physical effort
* Good positioning of the back and forward buttons
* The wheel’s capability to be tilted on the left or right gives more additional functionality
* With the free spinning style of the scroll wheel, it is just so easy to scroll and watch it work on long documents.
The Disadvantages?
I find the scroll wheel to be a bit slack. Amid each click of the wheel, is a small bit of play. This can be annoying because just a minor movement will lead you to register in games, thus if you are in the middle of an FPS game, it can unintentionally toggle weapons as well. Gamers can try other Logitech’s gaming mice.
The M500 will work better if you are right-handed. A left-handed person can still use it but it is not as comfy as the back and forward buttons are located on the left side of the mouse.
As a whole, the Logitech Corded Mouse M500 is a superb mouse for office and desktop use. You find that using it is very much convenient and comfortable. Its features and the super fast scrolling are well-planned and put into operation. On top of that, it is not as pricey as the other cordless mice that also have the same features.
A good performing mouse is a must-have for those guys who are fond of gaming. Without a mouse that will give you an advantage, gaming will be put to waste and one cannot reach the aim for the highest peak. People at Logitech have attuned themselves to this need and produced the Logitech MX518 Gaming Grade Optical Mouse.
The Logitech MX 518 is a high performance optical gaming metal mouse that has the following features: ultra-high resolution, 1600-dpi MX optical engine that brings quick response similar to that of a lightning and a mirror-smooth tracking. Even without a software, this new mouse from Logitech gives you instantaneous on-the-fly sensitivity regulation allowing you to toggle without any effort from pixel-precise targeting to fast-twitch stepping up. Ensuring you to hit the highest point in performance, enjoyment and contentment despite extreme gaming is the shaped grip.
Logitech MX 518 is approximately 9.5 x 9.5 x 2.5 inches and weighs 15.2 ounces. It comes in two colors, black and silver and connects via USB.
The Logitech MX 518 moves smoothly. Its forward and back side buttons are quite tiny but they both work well. The two buttons located on the left side of the mouse are very useful which default to paging forward and backward in the web pages. Browsing through files and folders is with so much ease also because of the forward and back action of the buttons.
The scroll wheel is not so good compared with the MS Intellimouse 4, however. It is harder to roll and still clicks.
As indicated, MX518 is a gaming mouse, therefore it will work better for gaming and it does excel in this aspect. No matter how quickly I move the mouse, it still tracks. Any member of the family can use it as it fits middle and small sized fits. It is lightweight and shaped adequately to suit the cupped hand. Its cord is slim and a little hard unlike the others which are utterly flat. Downloading the drivers and the program is without trouble and worked well with Win XP as soon as you connect it in.
The Set Point software detects the MX518 and adds user.xml for the MX518 with its default settings. This is really good as it lets you to toggle back or you can use it in parallel to a G5 with no worries of missing any customization.
Both the MX518 and G5 are the same in size and shape except that slightly rougher in texture is the G5’s top and grip areas. MX 518 is slicker in both surfaces.
I admit that the G5 is the best mouse I ever had; nevertheless that does not mean MX518 is not. It is satisfactory and can very well be a good replacement for the G5. Apart from that, it is economical.
As I have been using the Logitech MX518 for quite some time, I know that it will be hard for me to surf the web using another kind of mouse as you I end up pressing the side for buttons (that are not present) in order to navigate.
Ergonomics-wise, the MX518 is definitely implausible, especially to a right-handed person like me.
So if you are planning to buy a new mouse, go look for the Logitech MX518 High Performance Optical Gaming Metal Mouse.
